'Tis the season

My how the past few months have already flown by since school started. Alexis a 4th grader, Micah is in pre-K and Aiden turned 2. We celebrated Aiden's birthday on Halloween weekend with family and enjoyed a time of food, fellowship and football; not to mention lot's of treats.

Friday before Halloween was Micah's school "treat" parade. The kid's got dressed up in costume and went from classroom to classroom collecting a good amount of candy and then at the end we enjoyed a slice of pizza and a cold drink. Of course it was just enough to tease our taste buds and we ventured over to Little Caesars for a family meal deal consisting of a pepperoni pizza and bread sticks.

That evening we cleaned up the house and prepared for family to come in the following day.

The next morning we decorated the house and welcomed our out of town family for Aiden's 2nd birthday. What a blessed time. We enjoyed wonderful cake made by Michele in the shape of a curious george face...we watched Oklahoma play Kansas State in football...we visited and watched Aiden open gifts...and we ate some great food fixed by Michele for a late lunch/early dinner.

It was then time to get dressed up again and go out on the town...we ventured over to the Shawnee mall for the annual trick-or-treat and saw lots of great costumes and the kids loaded up on more sweets. It was a great time for the cousins and they enjoyed the time together. When we returned home we got out our pumpkins and began to carve them up. It was quite an enjoyable time to carve pumpkins and fellowship with family...these are the memories I enjoy making..

The next day our family went back home to Kansas and we loaded back up for some more fun at a local Trunk or Treat and won all sorts of prizes and filled our bags again with candy.

Monday night came and the weather was perfect; it was in the upper 60s when we ventured out for some trick-or-treating in the nicer neighborhoods in town. We hit the jackpot for sure and we bagged even more sweets. 4 nights in all for treating and a ton of sweets later the month of November has quickly arrived and has began to escape already.

This week we are preparing for Miss Alexis' 10th birthday party. I cannot believe my baby girl is going to be 10...wow~! We are continuing a family tradition that was started when I turned 10. 10 days before the birthday the child will receive a small gift and finally receiving the biggest one on their actual birthday. I remember how exciting it was to receive a gift every day...and so far Alexis is loving it.

Till next entry, be blessed.
Here is a saying that someone posted on facebook this past week and I thought it is so true.

Be still and know that I am God.
Be still and know that I am.
Be still and know that I.
Be still and know that.
Be still and know.
Be still.
Be.
There you will find God.
Not signs and wonders.
Who needs signs..when there is God.
It's a sign and wonder that anyone needs this proof when God is...and all you have to do is BE.
