Big Cup, Little Boy

As we were at Target yesterday for a quick shopping trip, Micah picked this up and asked me, "Daddy, look at this cup." He is so cute and innocent. As you can see, it is not actually a cup, but a trash can. Michele and I laughed out loud and said, "No, it's a trash can, but could be a cup for a giant."

While mommy and bubba shopped clearance items, Micah and I ventured through the store to look at toys and other fun items. We had lots of fun walking the toy aisles and seeing which toys we want "Ho, Ho" to bring for Christmas.

Murder at the Haunted Stone Lion Inn

Last Saturday evening for our 11th anniversary celebration, Michele and I ventured over to Guthrie, Oklahoma to participate in a Murder/Mystery Dinner. It was held at the well-known haunted Stone Lion Inn. It is a bed and breakfast as well, but we only did the dinner and murder mystery.

Every person who attends is asked to dress in character for the time period and is given a specific role for the evening. When we arrived, we were given an additional set of "private" clues that no one else could see but us. The evening started out with hor's dourves and drinks. We then had a brief introduction by the hostess, "Uta". She is the owner of the inn and writes the mysteries and hosts them every week.

Once we had brief introductions and pictures, we then entered the dining room for a 7-course meal. During the meal, one of the characters that was sitting at our table ended up dying by way of poisoning. Thus, the "fun" began. Every character was given a clue to read in front of all the other characters to assist in the murder investigation. Towards the end of our murder investigation we had coffee and cheesecake and met in groups; men and women, to determine who we thought did the murder. We then regrouped as a whole and gave our thoughts and reasonings as to "who did it". We were then told as to who really did it and why.

Afterwards, we went around as a group and introduced ourselves as who we really were and were we were from. There were couples/individuals from Wichita, Tulsa, Dallas and a few other towns. It was fun, but I think it dragged on a bit and had some dull moments. I definitely think everyone should at least attend one of these during their lifetime. Nothing like playing in a modern day, "Clue".
