7 months and counting

Aiden is now 7 months old! I cannot believe my youngest is inching closer to being a year old. Time sure flies. I have learned through my first 2 that we need to appreciate the time we have on this earth and the time we can invest into these souls we have been entrusted with. I will be the first to admit that I have too often neglected my sweet children for things that are not even worth mentioning. I do not want to continue down this path and it is my responsibility and desire to invest and pour as much time and love into them as I can.

As my little one continues to grow as well as my other two, I will pour into them with love, laughter and life. I will not neglect the things most precious to me and will ensure that they receive all that the Lord will provide.

As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord!

Summertime Summertime

SUMMERTIME is in full swing in the Gilbert household.

Alexis promoted from 2nd grade to 3rd grade last Friday. I cannot believe she is already a 3rd grader!! She earned 2 reading awards this past school year. She really enjoyed her teacher, Mrs. Young. She is a Christian woman and was a huge blessing for us this year. Alexis was not ready for the school year to end, but is already enjoying her summer. :)

The first day of Summer 2010, Alexis received a surprise. Mom and Grandma Higdon had been planning a surprise for her and come bright and early Saturday morning, Alexis realized what the surprise was when she opened the door to find grandma and grandpa had come to take her for a BIKE ride. She was thrilled!

The rest of the family followed shortly after and we spent the day at the park in Chandler, Oklahoma. It was a balmy 88 degrees, but with 40 mph winds blowing across the plains, it actually made for a nice afternoon.

On Monday, the whole family loaded up and headed to over to the YMCA ball fields to watch Micah participate in his first ever wee-ball game. His team is the Dodgers and they look adorable in their uniforms.

Micah was very unsure about everything at first and shed quite a few tears and arms were latched around me for a good 20 minutes. Finally, he warmed up to the situation and got his game face on. He got to bat twice and got two hits. It was a fun filled event for the whole family to watch these 3/4 year old kids run around the bases and learn America's past - time. At home we enjoyed some Sonic ice cream.

Later today we learned that our lil' Dodger was on the front sports page of the local newspaper. His first ever wee-ball game and he got a huge picture plastered in the paper. WHAT A STAR! He is already making headlines. :)
